I do not accept insurance directly. I would be an “out-of-network” provider" on your plan. Clients are responsible for payment at the time of visit. I am happy to provide you with a receipt for your records. Some insurance plans reimburse a large portion of the fee; and some do not.
To determine if you have mental health coverage, the first thing you should do is check with your insurance carrier. Check your coverage carefully and find the answers to the following questions:
- What are my mental health benefits?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
- How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
This varies from client to client according to one’s individual needs. I work with most people on a once/week basis. Some prefer appointments two times/week, and others find once every other week to work best. Appointments are also available on an “as needed” basis in some cases.
This depends on the individual’s needs and preferences. Sometimes people are able to address a less complicated problem or issue over a short-term three to six months process. Some find long-term therapy lasting a year or more to be most effective. Others find the consistent and neutral support of a therapist to be helpful on an ongoing basis, even when they have no specific problem to work on or issue to discuss.
Yes, I do individual therapy on phone or Skype at the same fee structure listed above.
Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 48 hours in advance with no payment. Cancellations within 48 hours require payment of the full session fee.
